In 2009, Alexi P. went to work at an insurance company. But when he found himself spending most of his days at his cubicle writing lyrics for what would eventually become the company song, he realized he was in the wrong place. And if he could write a love song about insurance, he could write about anything.
Since then, Alexi P. has dedicated himself to perfecting what he calls “love songs for the grown and busy”—music that reflects the romance, commitment, and emotional depth of adult life. A Massachusetts native by way of Philadelphia, he has built a reputation as a modern blue-eyed soul artist with a timeless sensibility, blending retro pop and R&B influences reminiscent of Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Robin Thicke. His work has earned praise from outlets including The New York Times, Philadelphia Magazine, NBC10 Boston, FOX29 Philadelphia, ThisisRnB, and SoulTracks, and he performed at SXSW in 2017.
Equally known for his creative independence, Alexi P. has consistently found unconventional ways to bring his music directly to audiences. In 2017, he launched the multi-city “Hashtag Houseparty Tour,” performing intimate fan-centered shows across the country. The following year, after raising over $12,000 through Kickstarter, he and his band embarked on the ten-city “East Coast Diner Tour,” transforming mom-and-pop diners from Boston to Atlanta into full concert venues and creating deeply personal experiences that blurred the line between artist and audience.
In 2021, inspired in part by his Greek heritage and lifelong devotion to classic soul, Alexi P. released his ambitious full-length project Love Odyssey—a groove-driven collection of romantic, old-school-inspired R&B featuring collaborations with Jadakiss, Natalie Stewart of Floetry, T3 of Slum Village, Chrisette Michele, and Amina Buddafly. The project established him not only as a compelling vocalist, but as a songwriter and creative architect committed to preserving and evolving the tradition of sophisticated, emotionally resonant love songs.
Now based in Los Angeles, Alexi P. continues to expand his artistic world, releasing new music while collaborating and writing for other artists. His work remains grounded in a singular mission: creating timeless love songs that speak to real life—its relationships, its responsibilities, and its enduring capacity for romance.
